Golf Brand Movements for 2013, also among Spanish pros

Carlota Ciganda 2013

February 25, 2013 – On an international scale, the signing of the No.1 of the golf world, Rory McIlroy, by the multinational Nike Golf, has been the most widely reported change of the 2013 season. But on a Spanish level, rumours have first emerged, and then gradually been uncovered (mostly through Social Networks) about the changes to new sponsors made by our players at the different professional Tours. We reflect on these changes here at MyGolfWay.com.

Although it might be incomplete (I will make amendments if I receive further information), this is the list that I have managed to put together up to now with the most important signings that have happened in the last couple of months, either due to the change of brand or due to recent acquisition of professional status.

Although several of the following have not yet been officially released by the multinational brands of clothing and/or golf clubs involved, it is known that the No.1 of the Ladies European Tour 2012, Carlota Ciganda (before Callaway Golf) has played the ISPS Handa Australian Open with TaylorMade Golf clubs, and in fact she was seen with the white driver in her hands during the final tournaments of last season.

José Manuel Lara, Javier Colomo, Carlos Pigem y Virginia Espejo

JOSÉ MANUEL LARA, JAVIER COLOMO, CARLOS PIGEM & VIRGINIA ESPEJO.

Two other players who have joined the staff of TaylorMade-adidas Golf are José Manuel Lara and Javier Colomo, after several seasons enrolled in the staff of Cleveland Golf – Srixon. Javi Colomo, therefore, will continue to play with the Srixon Z-Star XV golf ball and with Cleveland 588 wedges at least for this year.

It is also interesting to see the new Callaway Golf bag of Eduardo de la Riva, who has premiered his new RAZR-Fit Xtreme driver, or the Cobra Puma Golf bag of Carlos del Moral. And among golf apparel firms that have reinforced their image with the Spanish pros at different golf Tours are Oakley, Galvin Green, Under Armour, and especially the Spanish clothing golf brands Ocho Golf and Polo Swing. Here is the list:
