Callaway Golf – Stenson, another big name for the staff of the company
January 6, 2014 – Henrik Stenson, who played Callaway Golf fairway metalwoods and irons for his outstanding FedExCup and Race to Dubai titles in the same season (2013), has signed a multianual agreement with the Carlsbad-based company (California, USA), as was announced last Friday, to use a full set of branded golf clubs and employ the firm’s logo on his bag.
Callaway broke the news via Twitter and showed the first picture of the Swedish golfer with his new bag via Facebook. After that, in a coordinated strategy, Stenson tweeted his response.
“After having the best season of my career to date in 2013 using Callaway irons and fairway woods, the option of extending my relationship with Callaway Golf was a very natural progression,” Henrik Stenson said in a statement. “I look forward to continued success in 2014 being back as part of the Callaway family.”
Until now, Hernik Stenson has been relying on a mix of clubs in his golf bag, including a TaylorMade Golf driver (first the R1 and then the SLDR), Callaway Golf Diablo Octane Tour 3 and X Hot Pro 4 fairway Woods, Callaway Golf Legacy Black 3-PW set of irons, Cleveland Golf 588 RTX wedges, the Piretti Cottonwood II putter and the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.
Stenson will open his 2014 European Tour season at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship later January and kick off his PGA Tour campaign at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February. Then we will see which Callaway Golf equipment he has chosen to keep ahead with his third place at the Official Golf World Ranking 2014.
