January 9, 2020 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The revolutionary SIM drivers<\/strong> of TaylorMade Golf<\/strong>, presented this week, are also accompanied by SIM fairway woods and Rescues<\/strong> from the same spectacular family of golf clubs.<\/p>\n

The iconic V Steel design<\/strong> has been reinvented with the new SIM family of fairway metals. Advanced shaping combines with a V Steel sole<\/strong> to improve turf interaction and playability from various lies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A\u00a0more\u00a0rounded leading edge improves the\u202fclub\u2019s\u00a0initial contact with the turf, while the V Steel sole further raises\u00a0heel and toe\u00a0sections of the sole away from the\u202fground and improves\u00a0versatility. These design features combine to significantly reduce turf contact area in SIM, SIM Max and SIM\u00a0Max-D\u00a0fairways<\/strong>, reducing ground friction which\u00a0can\u00a0positively influence both clubhead speed and ball speed.<\/p>\n

Matching the aesthetics of the SIM driver family, the chromium carbon crown<\/strong> and contrasting chalk white colour help frame the ball at address and improve alignment.<\/p>\n

SIM (Ti) FAIRWAY WOOD<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SIM fairway<\/strong> is a 180cc\u00a0titanium<\/b>\u00a0head that combines a lightweight carbon construction with a revolutionary new ZATECH\u00a0titanium\u00a0face<\/strong>\u00a0and a heavy 80g steel sole weight. The strategically positioned weight creates an extremely low CG that allows for\u00a0increased ball speed,\u00a0higher launch\u00a0and improved forgiveness on low-face hits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ZATECH Titanium face is\u00a0a breakthrough in materials technology that\u00a0enables\u00a0TaylorMade engineers to push the limits of speed in a titanium fairway wood. It\u2019s the first time TaylorMade has used this rare and ultra-strong material in the construction of a\u00a0metalwood.\u00a0The\u00a0ZATECH titanium\u00a0is made in small batches using a unique process that allows engineers to improve the strength of the face\u00a0while\u00a0maintaining\u00a0a high level of ductility. Like SIM drivers, the fairway\u00a0woods\u00a0feature\u00a0progressive\u00a0head sizes\u00a0to provide greater forgiveness to the players who need it the most.<\/p>\n

Twist Face<\/strong><\/p>\n

TaylorMade introduced Twist Face<\/strong> to its fairway metal lineup in\u00a02019 and\u00a0has\u00a0carried the revolutionary technology into each SIM offering.\u00a0Like the SIM drivers, the faces have been modified to counteract the gear effect on common\u00a0mis-hits\u00a0in the high-toe and low-heel. Although the concept is the same as in the driver, the exact geometry is slightly different to account for the unique mass properties and impact location patterns in fairway woods compared to drivers.<\/p>\n

Speed \u200b\u200bPocket<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Speed Pocket\u00a0in SIM fairways\u00a0has\u00a0been engineered\u00a0to provide\u00a0increased\u00a0ball speed\u00a0to the entire face while\u00a0improving\u00a0forgiveness\u00a0on low-face impacts. A slot insert has also been designed to sit flush with the sole to improve sole interaction and eliminate turf drag from the Speed Pocket, aligning with the performance goals of V Steel.<\/p>\n

SIM, SIM Max and SIM\u00a0Max-D\u00a0fairways<\/strong>\u00a0will be available for preorder on January 10 and at retail on February 7, 2020.<\/p>\n

  • SIM<\/strong> will be offered in Rocket 3\/14\u00b0, 3\/15\u00b0 and 5\/19\u00b0 lofts. It will be offered in the Mitsubishi Diamana FW Limited 75 stock shaft, with numerous additional shaft options available at no additional cost. It comes stock with the new Golf Pride Z-Grip (47g).   • SIM Max<\/strong>\u00a0will be offered in lofts of Rocket 3\/14\u00b0, 3\/15\u00b0, 5\/18\u00b0, 7\/21\u00b0 and 9\/24\u00b0. Shaft offerings include Fujikura Ventus Blue FW 5 (R and A flexes) and Ventus Blue FW 6 (S and X flexes), with additional custom shaft options available at no additional cost.     SIM Max Rescue<\/strong><\/p>\n

    As a long-iron replacement, it\u2019s imperative that\u00a0hybrids be versatile and playable\u00a0in all conditions. That\u2019s why TaylorMade has incorporated V Steel technology into a\u00a0hybrid\u00a0for the first time in the company\u2019s history\u00a0with\u00a0SIM Max\u00a0Rescue<\/strong>. The clubhead is engineered to deliver improved turf interaction and reduced friction when playing from various lies. A reshaped leading edge works in conjunction with V Steel to further improve playability and strike conditions.<\/p>\n

    Designers rounded the toe and adjusted the face angle to give SIM Max Rescue a more confidence-inspiring shape at address\u00a0for all levels of golfers. It utilises the same C300 Steel face<\/strong> used in the SIM Max fairway\u00a0woods\u00a0to help improve ball speed, durability and overall performance.
