Our data shows this group grew the most over the past two years, quadrupling to more than 26,000.&#8221;<\/em><em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoupled with new flight routes to Girona-Costa Brava airport announced by Jet2, Transavia and Ryanair for 2016 and 2017, we remain confident this momentum will continue and look forward to welcoming new \u2013 and returning \u2013 golf visitors to one of Europe&#8217;s most distinct and culturally-rich golf destinations.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These figures are supported by findings from influential UK price comparison site,\u00a0<strong>TravelSupermarket<\/strong>, which identifies Spain\u2019s <strong>Costa Brava<\/strong> region as the fastest-growing short haul destination for this season, based on a surge in internet searches received during the first quarter of 2016, compared to the first three months of 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TravelSupermarket<\/strong> revealed <strong>Costa Brava<\/strong>\u2019s search rank rose 31 places, compared to the same period in 2015, and was particularly popular among families and single travellers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Costa-Brava-Ruta-del-vi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48269\" src=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Costa-Brava-Ruta-del-vi.jpg\" alt=\"Costa-Brava-Ruta-del-vi\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Costa-Brava-Ruta-del-vi.jpg 640w, https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Costa-Brava-Ruta-del-vi-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Statistics from <strong>Costa Brava<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>2016 VIVID\u00a0Wine Festival<\/strong> also showed a growth in visitor numbers, increasing 27% year-on-year, and generating an economic impact of almost \u20ac500,000.<\/p>\n<p>These figures are revealed as <strong>Costa Brava<\/strong> uses 2016 to celebrate the region\u2019s world-class golf, wine and gastronomy offerings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 20, 2016 &#8211; In a year in which it celebrates 50 years of golf, Spain\u2019s award-winning\u00a0Costa Brava\u00a0region today reports golf visitors to the area have increased to more than 103,000 over the past two years.
