May 24, 2015 \u2013<\/strong> The Galvin Green <\/strong><\/a>team player Nacho Elvira<\/strong> secured his second European Challenge Tour 2015<\/strong> title within the space of a month after a fantastic wedge to the 72nd hole sealed a one stroke win the K\u00e4rnten Golf Open<\/strong>, in Austria.<\/p>\n

In bright sunshine on a dramatic final day, the Spanish golfer clinched victory \u2013 and with it a cheque for \u20ac28,000 which propelled him to the top of the Road to Oman Rankings<\/strong> \u2013 courtesy of a pitch perfect approach to the 18th for a closing birdie which cancelled out his bogey on the 17th.<\/p>\n

This was the final act of rounds of 64, 67, 67 and 65 for a total of 263 strokes which moved Nacho Elvira<\/strong> to 21 under par and just beyond the clutches of Sweden\u2019s Jens Dantorp<\/strong>, who pushed the champion all the way with a closing 64 at Golfclub Schloss Finkenstein<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nacho Elvira<\/strong> defied the heavy rain of the second and third rounds wearing his Galvin Green <\/strong>ARON Gore-Tex Paclite jacket<\/strong> in Summer sky\/white\/black colour, to set the way in style of the K\u00e4rnten Golf<\/strong> Open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s<\/em> difficult to know what it\u2019s going to take over the weekend, because it depends on the weather conditions, but if I can get to 20 under par I think I\u2019ll have a very good chance,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Nacho Elvira<\/strong> said after the first two rounds, and just three shots behind the leader. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to keep making birdies out there because if you don\u2019t, you\u2019re going to fall behind. So you have to keep on attacking, and hopefully I can do that.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But the Sunday belonged to Elvira who, with just five events played on the 2015 Challenge Tour Schedule<\/strong>, has virtually already secured a swift return to The European Tour<\/strong>. A second Challenge Tour title added to the last month\u2019s Challenge de Madrid, where he notched an albatross on the final day en route to securing victory by four shots.<\/p>\n

The 28 year old, whose first victory of the season came in El Encin Golf<\/strong> (Madrid) at the end of April, said: \u201cThe wedge on the last has to be right up there with the most important shots of my career. I had the perfect distance and executed the shot exactly how I wanted to. It was the perfect end to a great week.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI have to give great credit to the golf club, because the course was in fantastic condition despite the rain. It was nice to play in sunshine today \u2013 coming from Spain I\u2019m not use to playing in rain, so the last two days were very tough! But I got through it, and I couldn\u2019t be happier.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe goal at the start of the season was just to get my main Tour card back, but I could never have dreamed I would get off to the start I have. It\u2019s unbelievable really, the win in Madrid obviously gave me a lot of confidence, but if anything this win is even more important. It takes me to the top of the Rankings, and the goal now is to stay there or hopefully even get a third win of the season.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
