I\u2019ve been working really hard, obviously like everyone else, but I\u2019m just speechless. I\u2019m really happy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>PING<\/strong>\u00a0player becomes the second player, after fellow countrywoman Moa Svedenskiold, to win twice on the LETAS this season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the win, Svensson is up to fourth in the LETAS Order of Merit (OOM) standings and in pole position to claim one of the seven LET cards for 2027.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m so emotional,\u201d<\/em> she said. <em>\u201cI feel like this might help me get my card at the end. At the end of the season, there\u2019s more pressure and I\u2019m really glad how I handled it out there with all the pressure.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cThe support means everything. My mom was here on the bag caddying, which was nice, and then all my friends came up afterwards and hugged me. That just makes this so much more special.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walking up to the 18th green, Svensson had a three-shot lead over Sjursen and both players three-putted for bogey.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Svensson said: <em>\u201cWhen all my friends came up, that\u2019s when I realised that it was real. I wasn\u2019t paying attention that much to the scores, but towards the last three holes I realised it was really close.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cBut I just kept going, didn\u2019t think of it too much, but obviously made a couple mistakes there at the end so maybe that was the nerves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Svensson wasted no time to cut into Sjursen\u2019s overnight three-shot lead from the opening par-5 1st hole.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Louisiana State University graduate reached the green in two and two-putted for birdie, while Sjursen made bogey after pulling her tee shot left of the fairway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sjursen briefly restored her two-shot advantage with a birdie at hole 4, before Svensson answered immediately by birdieing the next hole.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After Svensson\u2019s birdie on hole 7 and Sjursen\u2019s bogey on hole 9, the former made the turn with a one-shot lead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then came a rollercoaster three-hole stretch from holes 10 to 12 where Sjursen went birdie-double bogey-eagle and Svensson went par-par-birdie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Svensson extended her lead to three shots with three holes to play as she birdied hole 13 while Sjursen made bogey.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_183166\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-183166\" class=\"size-full wp-image-183166\" src=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LETAS-Elsa-Svensson-ganadora-Iberdrola-Calatayud-Ladies-Open-2026-2.jpg\" alt=\"The Swedish Svensson wins the LETAS of Calatayud.\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LETAS-Elsa-Svensson-ganadora-Iberdrola-Calatayud-Ladies-Open-2026-2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LETAS-Elsa-Svensson-ganadora-Iberdrola-Calatayud-Ladies-Open-2026-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LETAS-Elsa-Svensson-ganadora-Iberdrola-Calatayud-Ladies-Open-2026-2-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-183166\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Elsa Svensson holds the winner trophy.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019m sad that she (Sjursen) didn\u2019t play her best today,\u201d<\/em> Svensson said. <em>\u201cBut we had a good time, both of us. We laughed, and it was just a good atmosphere in the group, so that helped me to stay calm.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After pulling her approach on hole 16 left and making bogey, Svensson opened the door for Sjursen to launch a late comeback, but the latter made another bogey the very next hole to fall out of contention.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since last week\u2019s Terre Blanche Ladies Open, Svensson has had the support of her mother caddying for her.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She added: <em>\u201cI mean, she&#8217;s not used to caddying. But just having someone there, it doesn&#8217;t matter if they know golf or not, it just means so much. And I think we&#8217;re going to celebrate nice tonight.<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cMy goal this year was to get the (LET) card, even though it was my first year, I wanted to set a high goal. It would mean so much to play on the LET, that\u2019s my end goal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behind Svensson and Sjursen, the quintet of Germany\u2019s <strong>Theresa De Bochdanovits<\/strong> (68), England\u2019s <strong>Bel Wardle<\/strong> (68), Slovakia\u2019s <strong>Michaela Vavrova<\/strong> (69), Finland\u2019s <strong>Anna Backman<\/strong> (70) and Spain\u2019s <strong>Marina Escobar\u00a0<\/strong>(71) finished on nine-under-par in a tie for third place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The duo of France\u2019s <strong>Lauren Holmey<\/strong> (68) and Australia\u2019s <strong>Belinda Ji<\/strong> (72) came another shot behind in tied-eighth position.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norway\u2019s <strong>Silje Torvund Ohma<\/strong> (73), who holed out for eagle on the par-5 7th hole, finishing in solo 10th on seven-under-par while English pair <strong>Jessica Hall<\/strong> (69) and <strong>Thalia Martin<\/strong> (69) and Finland\u2019s <strong>Tiia Koivisto<\/strong> (70) were one more stroke back in a tie for 11th.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further down the leaderboard, in a tie for 14th place on five-under-par, are Iceland\u2019s <strong>Hulda Gestsdottir<\/strong> (70), French amateur Alice Kong (70), Switzerland\u2019s <strong>Caroline Sturdza<\/strong> (70), United States\u2019 <strong>Katherine Schuster<\/strong>(71), Scotland\u2019s <strong>Lorna Mcclymont<\/strong> (72) and Spain\u2019s <strong>Clara Moyano<\/strong> (74).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OOM leader Holmey remains on top in the <strong>Race to Islantilla<\/strong> where the top seven in the standings will receive their LET cards for the 2027 season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With three events remaining, Switzerland\u2019s <strong>Natalie Armbruester<\/strong> and Sweden\u2019s <strong>Moa Svedenskiold<\/strong> are in second and third place respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rounding out the top seven behind Svensson are England\u2019s Bel Wardle, Czechia\u2019s <strong>Tereza Zapletal Kozeluhova<\/strong> and Germany\u2019s <strong>Theresa De Bochdanovits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The LETAS season resumes next week at the October 20-22 <strong>Super Bock Ladies Open<\/strong> in Vidago, Portugal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/letaccess.com\/reports-page?url=https%3A%2F%2Finfo.ladieseuropeantour.com%2Ftic%2Ftmscores.cgi%3Ftourn%3D5027~season%3D2026~params%3DP%2a3ESC03~&amp;id=2026&amp;code=5027&amp;title=Round%203%20Scoreboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elsa Svensson shot a final round 69 to finish on 14-under-par overall to clinch her second LET Access Series (LETAS) title of the season at the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open.
