I guess we were hoping for a bit more of a battle going down the stretch, but it\u2019s golf and that sometimes happens.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI got a little unlucky on number two. I was right behind a tree in the fairway. I bogeyed that hole, so I was over par for the majority of the front nine, but I went on a little nice run. I had two turkeys on the scorecard, which was nice. I just stuck to it and told myself that there is a lot of opportunities out there and hopefully I can capitalise on them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe first two days were a bit loose; today was a little bit more intense playing with two other competitors in the final group and being pretty close to the lead. We were kind of going back and forth with the lead, but it&#8217;s so fun playing those first two days with the team. It gives you a little bit different aspect of golf. I enjoyed it.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Three players finished in a share of second place with Jessica Korda, France\u2019s <strong>Pauline Roussin<\/strong> and Spain\u2019s <strong>Ana Pel\u00e1ez Trivi\u00f1o<\/strong> all on 10-under-par.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Aramco-Sotogrande-Ana-Pelaez.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-128565\" src=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Aramco-Sotogrande-Ana-Pelaez.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Aramco-Sotogrande-Ana-Pelaez.jpg 640w, https:\/\/hundreds-wordpress-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/mygolfway\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Aramco-Sotogrande-Ana-Pelaez-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was another consistent day for the Spaniard, who ended the week with a bogey-free round of 69 (-3) and finished as the top Spanish player.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI had a pretty good day out there,\u201d<\/em> said the 2022 Madrid Ladies Open champion. <em>\u201cMy front nine was very good, I had a couple of chances on the par-fives to get the lead down to two and maybe convert the birdies, but it didn\u2019t happen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI was emotionally very calm until the end, and I think that\u2019s what helped me finish in a tie for second place. I had so many people following me today, I love the energy that I feel when I know people are watching and I\u2019m very happy with today\u2019s round.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt was definitely a good week to do well, I am always looking forward to the Solheim Cup in 2023 and this week was a great week to play and hopefully the captain is watching out for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Roussin produced a third round of 71 (-1) with seven birdies, three bogeys and a triple bogey on her scorecard, while it wasn\u2019t the day the older Korda sister would have wanted as she shot a round of five-over.<\/p>\n<p>France\u2019s <strong>Emma Grechi<\/strong> and Slovenia\u2019s <strong>Pia Babnik<\/strong> finished in a tie for fifth at the end of day three on nine-under-par with USA\u2019s <strong>Alison Lee<\/strong>, Dutch star <strong>Anne Van Dam<\/strong>, Belgium\u2019s <strong>Manon De Roey<\/strong> and Sweden\u2019s <strong>Linn Grant<\/strong> one shot further back.<\/p>\n<p>It was an excellent finish to the Individual competition for Finland\u2019s Matilda Castren, who fired a scintillating final round of nine-under 63 \u2013 her career-best \u2013 to climb up the leaderboard to 11<sup>th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Castren said: <em>\u201cI didn\u2019t play very well in the first round, and I was frustrated and thinking about what to do in the next couple of weeks to get it together. Yesterday was promising I shot one-under, and I had some good shots and birdies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cToday, everything seemed to go in. It was kind of challenging in the wind, but I still managed to hit the ball great, and it was one of those days where everything was going your way and the putts broke the right way and the wind helped you when it needed to.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>In the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol, Sweden\u2019s <strong>Maja Stark<\/strong> still leads the rankings with 3,037.64 points ahead of her compatriots Grant (2,533.91) and <strong>Johanna Gustavsson<\/strong> (1,802.63).<\/p>\n<p>De Roey is still in fourth place with Argentina\u2019s <strong>Maggie Simmermacher<\/strong> in fifth and England\u2019s <strong>Georgia Hall<\/strong> in sixth.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa\u2019s <strong>Lee-Anne Pace<\/strong> remains in seventh spot with England\u2019s <strong>Meghan MacLaren<\/strong> just behind, while Spain\u2019s Pel\u00e1ez moves up to ninth place and now has 1,096.46 points with Finland\u2019s <strong>Tiia Koivisto<\/strong> rounding out the top 10.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August20, 2022 &#8211;\u00a0World number three Nelly Korda fired an excellent final round of 67 (-5) to win the Individual title at the Aramco Team Series \u2013 Sotogrande by three shots.
