March 21, 2022 – FootJoy, the #1 Shoe in Golf, has launched the next evolution of golf footwear with the all-new Tour Alpha, and features the latest footwear technology to deliver the ultimate stability option with the added benefit of supreme comfort.

The Tour Alpha’s premium, power silhouette is packed with visible technology allowing golfers to see and feel the innovation, which is activated throughout each step of the swing sequence, empowering players to take total control of their game.

""

At the forefront of its innovation is the game-changing OPS technology – Optimised Performance Stabiliser – a three component innovation that locks-in the golfer’s foot to deliver superior feel, unrivalled traction and optimise power.

“Our Tour series has always been our most stable silhouette in the FootJoy portfolio, and the Tour Alpha is undoubtedly our most intelligent golf-specific innovation to date, which pushes the boundary of footwear technology with the OPS system driving performance at every step of the golf swing.

“With the innovation and golf-specific performance focus, the Tour Alpha is set to be golf footwear’s best-in-class and the journey to its launch is a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit to innovate as we continue to deliver new products that support the golfer to perform when it matters most.” , says Guy Smith, Product Manager of FootJoy Footwear.

THE 3D MOULDED HEEL COUNTER

""

The 3D moulded heel provides a stiffer, lighter and aesthetically interesting rear structure that provides lower Achilles’ support and locks the golfer’s heel in place during the swing.

FTF DUAL DUROMETER MIDSOLE

""

A firm perimeter heel piece, combined with a soft-core midfoot piece. The soft midsole supports the foot with comfort while the firm heel centres the back foot for controlled balance during loading in the swing.

Note: The darker areas of the shoe lock the golfer into the swing for ultimate stability while the lighter areas provide more comfort than FJ has ever had on a Tour series shoe before.

A-FRAME SUPPORT SYSTEM

""

The A-frame is an external TPU structure that fuses the heel counter and the midsole together, to create synergy within the OPS and deliver ultimate stability at every stage of the swing.

""

“This golf shoe delivers pure power with every shot. It has that solid base that allows me to lock in and swing away with full force”, says Kevin Kisner.

BOA AND BOA AGAIN

""

The Tour Alpha takes the WRAPID Fit System powered by BOA to new levels, with a BOA and dual BOA offering.

Through extensive testing and pressure mapping the BOA technology is proven to alleviate significant pressure on the top of the golfer’s foot and enhance the golfer’s fit.

""

FootJoy introduces the WRAPID 2.0 fit system, featuring a dial on the heel and on the side, the dual BOA option is the next evolution of fit, alleviating pressure even further to help the golfer feel even more connected to the ground and further dials in that precise fit.
